Despite a nation-wide dawn-to-dusk strike enforced by Jamaat-e-Islami, Bangladesh’s largest Islamist party, road traffic in the Capital, Dhaka, on February 6, was at its infamous best. What should have been a 30-minute ride from the airport turned into a saga, with many guests flying in from different corners of the world for the second edition of the bi-annual Dhaka Art Summit, having to wait at least an hour for the designated shuttles that were to ferry them to their respective hotels.
